Simulation based medical education has the potential to improve both learner and patient outcomes in neurology, but lack of faculty availability limits widespread implementation. The Trial Of Peer Leaders In Neurology Education (TOPLINE) is a multi-center, randomized control trial which aims to determine whether performance improvements of residents debriefed by near peers are non-inferior to those of residents debriefed by faculty facilitators.

PI – Sean Marinelli

We are developing a Virtual Curriculum for Brain Death/Death by Neurologic Criteria based on the 2023 multi-society BD/DNC practice guidelines. In an effort to standardize brain death education, we aim to augment clinical experiences using a virtual environment that is remotely accessible and exposes the learner to a wide range of clinical scenarios. Our curriculum incorporates structured didactics, interactive simulations, and feedback in the form of an individualized score report.
